The hunt for the star jewels begins!
After Princess Peach asks Mario for help with a treasure hunt, he immediately travels to the small town of Rohlingen. But when he arrives... No sign of Peach! When Mario learns about the legendary star jewels, he sets off in search of these fabled treasures in the hope of finding the princess.
Of course, Mario is not the only one looking for the star jewels... and Bowser is not the only adversary causing trouble this time! Will our hero manage to find the ancient artefacts, open the Aeon Gate and, last but not least, save the world?
A paper world full of surprises
In search of the star jewels, you will explore a world that extends far beyond the city limits of Rohlingen! You ll be amazed at what awaits you! A giant dragon hiding in a spooky castle, an enchanted village in eternal darkness, exciting detective work on board a moving train and much more!
Utilise Mario s paper skills for locomotion and exploration! Transform yourself into a paper aeroplane to cross chasms or become as thin as a sheet of paper to squeeze through a gap! There are even more skills to discover!
A colourful mix of partners
On your journey, you ll meet a wide variety of characters who will be happy to join you! Not only can they help you in your search for the Star Jewels, but they ll also add a personal touch to your adventures!
Each of these characters has unique abilities. For example, Gumbrina can give you information about enemies or locations, Koopio can help you get to items that are actually out of your reach, and Madame Aerona blows away obstacles to reveal secret passages behind them. You can also use these and other abilities in battle to gain the upper hand over your opponents!
On the stage of battle
What to do if opponents cross your path on your journey? Face them in turn-based combat and do your best to impress the demanding audience! Among your many ways to win are attacks that can only be obtained by using special medals and star attacks that use the power of star jewels!
With the right timing when pressing the buttons, you can increase the strength of your attacks or reduce the damage you take when defending. The better you do, the more applause you will earn from the audience!
